Want some everyday red and white wines from Italy's Piedmont? The Barbera and Dolcetto grapes provide good value alternatives to the region's famed Barolo and Barbaresco reds, while Piedmont's whites range from the easygoing and vibrant to the complex and fuller-bodied, as our latest Tasting Highlights lineup shows.

Barbera reds can deliver plenty of dark black cherry, blackberry and plum flavors, sometimes accented with violet. Their lush textures are offset by vibrant acidity, making these wines great matches for a wide range of dishes, including pizza. The wines are sometimes aged in new oak barrels, lending both tannins and sweet spice notes. Generally, versions from around the town of Alba have higher levels of acidity, while those from Asti have more body and breadth.

This lineup includes Damilano's Barbera d'Asti Zero Sette 2022, one of the top scorers below, which is lush with dark fruit, mineral and spice notes. Read on to get our score and full tasting note for this fantastic Piedmont wine and seven others.
