With a terrific value angle and three excellent recent vintages available, there is no better time to enjoy Chianti Classico. Our latest Tasting Highlights selection features eight wines from two relatively cooler growing seasons amid a streak of warmer years, with 2021 being the finest harvest to date in this central Tuscan region.
An early start to 2021, followed by cooler weather in April and May, resulted in a long growing season for Chianti Classico, with ideal weather from mid-August until harvest. The warm days and cool nights in September and early October resulted in complex aromas, ripe tannins and fine harmony in the wines.
This lineup includes Barone Ricasoli's Chianti Classico Brolio Bettino 2021, which shows terrific balance and red fruit and iron notes. Read on to get our score and full expert tasting note for this terrific Chianti Classico and seven others.
