It's great to be well-stocked on “any night” wines for whenever the occasion arises. But there's no reason to skimp on taste for the sake of affordability. Our latest Tasting Highlights features a mix of red, white and sparkling wines priced less than $35. There’s even a canned wine for fans of single-serving options.

Two Washington state Bordeaux blends are among the outstanding-rated wines here: Gorman’s The Devil You Know red leads with Merlot, and it is expressive and refined while building richness on the finish. Sleight of Hand Cellars' supple and fruit-forward The Spellbinder bottling is Cabernet Franc–dominant and made in an approachable style using foudres and neutral oak barrels, allowing its blueberry and cherry flavors to shine.
