Fashion Icon Vera Wang Puts Even More Party in Prosecco

The designer known for dressing the world's biggest stars has added an Italian sparkling wine to her 2021 collection

One of the most important names in U.S. bridal wear is putting her name on one of the most important wines in U.S. wedding receptions: Vera Wang, the acclaimed fashion designer whose brand is synonymous with celebration, has introduced her first Prosecco.

"I am a designer, but I am also an entrepreneur and brand builder," Wang said in a statement. "I've dedicated my entire life to designing how people celebrate, and not just their weddings, but what they wear to how they entertain to how they live at home—and now, what they drink!"

“Why Prosecco?” Wang added. “Celebration! When I think of romance, fun, laughter, joy, friendship, I think of Prosecco—it is the wine that personifies emotion and sheer happiness.”

To create Vera Wang Party Prosecco ($25), Wang partnered with Italian wine producer Araldica Vigneti, led by second-generation winemaker Claudio Manera. "We were impressed by how eager Mrs. Wang was to learn about us, the process and how hands-on she was throughout," Manera told Wine Spectator via email. "Prosecco is very well-known, but having someone like Vera Wang attached to it is incredible."

The characteristically sleek matte silver bottle with neon lettering will look familiar to Wang’s fanbase, which includes a long list of celebrity wine lovers—Wang has designed gowns for Michelle Obama, Kim Kardashian, Mariah Carey, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Victoria Beckham and Hilary Duff, just to name a few …
